Azerbaijan has dismissed regular disinformation about its alleged
success in Vienne referring to Safarov case

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 28, ARMENPRESS: Azerbaijani mass media message
as if they have prevented Armenian delegation attempts referring
to Ramil Safarov extradition within Council of Europe member states
31 st conference, hosted in Vienne September 19 -21 at the level of
Ministers of Justice do not correspond to the reality.

Such discussion was not planned and just could not be launched: the
conference organizers strictly retain the previously established theme
and the agenda. The theme of the 31st Conference of the Council of
Europe’s member states was ”The urban violence, juveniles as victims
and criminals” and the speeches of participating states delegation’s
representatives referred exclusively to the topic.

As Ministry of Justice told Armenpress, Armenian delegation on behalf
of Deputy Ministers Grigor Muradyan and Yeghise Kirakosyan however
managed to submit written statement through the Secretariat pertain to
Ramil Safarov extradition and his subsequent pardon. The statement
particularly ran that Ministry of Justice strictly condemn Hungary
referring to Ramil Safarov extradition and his subsequent pardon by
Azerbaijan as by this step two states have violated international law,
including their obligations under the Council of Europe, especially
1983 Strasbourg Convention on extradition of convicted persons.

At the end of the Conference Deputy Minister of Justice Yeghishe
Kirakosyan suggested in his concluding speech to discuss the theme
within the forum in order to prevent similar violations of
international law in the future.
