Minister of Nature Protection of Armenia Aram Haroutiunyan has
commented on the reports on poaching in the Khosrov reserve.

To recall, earlier on Monday green activists disseminated a video
record with fragments of killed Red Book animals, Bezoar goat and
brown bear, as well as traces of fires and garbage.

On September 25 Minister Haroutiunyan told media that they have
not yet found the place shown in the video record. He addressed
those who disseminated the above video offering cooperation in the
issue. The minister said that the materials have been submitted to
the law-enforcement agencies for investigation.

As regards alarms of environmentalists over the two-storey building
in the reserve, which has not been removed yet, the minister said
that the issue might be submitted to the court to settle the dispute
with the developers.

Emil Lazarian: “I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
