Akhakalak Protest: Free Vahagn Chakhalyan

Hundreds of Armenians took to the streets of Akhalkalak today,
demanding the release of Javakhk-Armenian activist Vahagn Chakhalyan.

The protestors assembled in the town’s central Mashtots Square and
condemned what they described as the beating of inmates in Georgian
correctional facilities.

United Javakhk, the group which organized the protest, stated that
similar demonstrations would continue if Georgian authorities didn’t
heed their calls for Chakhalyan’s release.
