Southern Connecticut is proud to present an Armenian Art Exhibit
curated by Vicki S. Hovanessian in honor of the inauguration of
Dr. Mary A. Papazian as the eleventh president of Southern. We invite
you to join us at a special Armenian Art reception to be held on
Thursday, September 27, 2012, from 4 to 6 p.m. At the John Lyman
Center for the Performing Arts as we celebrate this wonderful
occasion.

President Papazian is the first woman of Armenian descent to serve as
a college or university president in the United States. President
Papazian and her husband, Dennis Papazian, are very involved in the
Armenian community. As a couple they’ve done a great deal to raise
awareness about Armenian heritage and culture, including the Armenian
Genocide of 1915.

If you would like more information on the Armenian art exhibit or on
Dr. Papazian, please visit our Inauguration website at

From: Emil Lazarian | Ararat NewsPress

Emil Lazarian: “I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
