WORLD CUP 2014: IN ITALY’S GROUP, BULGARIA-ARMENIA 1-0

(AGI) Sofia – After the 2-2 on its home pitch in the first match
against Italy, Penev’s Bulgaria beat Armenia by 1-0 in Sofia. It was
the B Group’s 2nd game. The home team prevailed thanks to a goal by
Manolev who had already scored against Italy at the 43′. Two expulsions
were executed at 73′ with a red card for Armenia’s Pizzelli and one
for Bulgaria’s Djakov.

But the story didn’t end there because at 77′ also Ghazaryan got
himself expelled, leaving the away team in only 9 players.

Thanks to this victory Bulgaria climbs to 4 points while Armenia,
which won by 1-0 in its first match in Malta and is scheduled to play
against Italy next, lags behind at 3 points.
