Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry appreciates the cooperation from the
Hungarian side for the return of Azerbaijani officer Ramil Safarov to
his homeland, Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry spokesman Elman Abdullayev
told Trend.

“Azerbaijan has been working in this direction for some time and
we greatly appreciate the cooperation of Hungary in this matter,”
Abdullayev said.

Azerbaijani officer Ramil Safarov was convicted earlier in Hungary
and has now returned to Azerbaijan.

Ramil Safarov was born on August 25, 1977 in the Jabrail region of
Azerbaijan. Safarov, 34, who participated in NATO exercises in 2004
in Hungary, was charged with the murder of Armenian officer Gurgen
Margaryan, who insulted the Azerbaijani flag. By the verdict of the
Budapest court, Safarov was sentenced to life imprisonment without
the right of pardon during 30 years.

Emil Lazarian: “I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
