Rescuers rush to help Armenia’s citizens involved in road accident in Georgia

YEREVAN. – A. Gasparyan called Armenia’s Emergency Situations
Ministry’s Crisis Management Center, on August 19 at 1:40pm, informing
that a traffic accident had occurred in Georgia, and his relatives
were in the vehicle involved in the incident.

The citizen wished to receive information about his relatives, and the
aforesaid Center established contact with the driver of the car.

It was found out that an Opel had gone off road and tipped over, on
August 18 at around 6am, at Georgia’s Samtredia-Kobuleti Highway, the
Ministry’s press service informs.

As a result, passengers Lilia Movsisyan, 31, and Mari Movsisyan, 8,
sustained injuries and were transferred to hospital.

Also, the Crisis Management Center established contact with Armenia’s
Embassy in Georgia, where it was assured that everything is being done
to help these citizens of Armenia.

In addition, Armenia’s Consul in Georgia, Anahit Barseghyan, informed
that Mari Movsisyan is at a Tbilisi hospital, whereas Lilia Movsisyan
is at a Kutaisi city hospital.

Next, the Crisis Management Center received information, on Tuesday
evening, that assistance is needed to transfer the Armenian nationals
to Yerevan.

An Emergency Situations Ministry ambulance, together with a team led
by Medical Security Department Chief, Lieutenant Colonel K. Atoyan,
headed for Georgia, on Wednesday at 4:45am, to transfer the injured to
Yerevan.

But Atoyan informed from Tbilisi at 10:30am that, after consulting
with the physicians, it was decided to transfer the child at a later
date.

The ambulance already headed to Kutaisi, and Lilia Movsisyan will be
transferred to Yerevan on Wednesday.
