Economic activity in Armenia grows by 7.7% as of January-July 2012

Yerevan/Mediamax/. As of January – July 2012, growth of economic
activity in Armenia made 7.7% as compared to the same period of 2011.

Index of economic activity went up by 7.2% in July against the same
period of 2011, Mediamax was told in the National Statistical Service
of Armenia.

In January -July of 2012, the volume of industrial production in
Armenia made AMD 595bln 268.7mln having increased by 13.4% as compared
to the same period of 2011.

The trade turnover in January-July increased by 2.9% (AMD1tln 52bln
585.4mln) and the volume of services – by 11% (AMD 535bln 125.7mln).

The total volume of agricultural production increased by 10.2% (AMD
290bln 480.4mln) as compared to January-July 2011 and the construction
registered 5.2% decline (AMD 165bln 449.1mln). The production of
energy increased by 7.6% in the accounting period having made 4716,5
Kw/h.

Prices for consumer goods and industrial production went up against
January-July 2011 by 2.2% and 6.6% respectively.

Average nominal salary in Armenia as of January-July 2012 went up by
4.6% having made AMD 116 928 (USD 294.1) as compared to the same
period of 2011.

In January -July 2012, Armenia’s external trade turnover made USD 3bln
138.5mln or AMD 1tln 247.6bln having increased by 8.1% as compared to
the same period of 2011.

Export growth in January-July made 13.1% (AMD 319.1bln or USD
802.2mln) and import – 6.4% (AMD 928.5bln or USD2mln 336.3mln).

External trade deficit of Armenia made AMD 609.4bln or USD1bln
534.1mln as of January-July 2012.
