University professor in Armenia calls rape accusation blackmailing attempt

VANADZOR. – Professor at the State Pedagogic University of the
Armenian Vanadzor city Aram Hambaryan claims he has done no sexual
actions against the aforesaid university student, he told Armenian
News-NEWS.am Lori correspondent.

`There was a relationship with the student and the Vanadzor
investigative department deals with it. However, I made no such
actions, and the reports spread by media outlets are not true,’ he
said adding it is blackmail, devoid of the base and that all the
responsible will stand in front of the court.

As the agency has earlier informed, the aforesaid university student
M.V. has reported in the police that the professor Hambaryan has had a
sexual relation with her against her will by scaring and threatening
her.
