Turkey’s new UAV makes first successful flight

The Simsek reconnaissance unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) has made ??its
first successful flight, the Sabah newspaper reported.

This is the second model of the UAV, designed by a Turkish aerospace company.

Its length is 2.3 meters, with a wingspan of 1.5 meters. The maximum
takeoff weight is 75 kilograms, with a speed of 740 kilometers per
hour.

The first Turkish reconnaissance unmanned aerial vehicle ANKA was
commissioned in June 2012.
