The Graparak paper of Yerevan believes that Armavia, the national
air company of Armenia, is trying to make a profit of $245 for each
ticket sold for flights to Syria, Tert.am reports.

Two flights are being made from Yerevan to Aleppo on Monday and
Tuesday. One is organized by Armavia, the other by Syrian Airlines.

The price of $285 per ticket is no longer realistic, because all
tickets until September have been booked.

Some say that an Aleppo-Yerevan flight may cost $900.

Armavia said yesterday that it would organize an additional flight
every week. Firdus Zakaryan, chairman of the commission for Syrian
Armenians, said that Armavia President Mikhail Bagdasarov expects to
get 100,000 drams from the state budget for each ticket. The minimum
ticket price is 116,000 ($285).

The Ministry of Economy of Armenia received the proposal from Armavia
and will consider it soon.

Emil Lazarian: “I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
