Mayor of Gyumri Resigned

The mayor of Gyumri Vardan Ghukasyan resigned today from the position
of head of Shirak regional organization of the Republican Party.

Today Speaker Abrahamyan left for Gyumri, which was followed by the
resignation. Note that yesterday Vardan Ghukasyan went to the
president’s office where he was informed about Serzh Sargsyan’s
decision that in September’s mayoral election the Republican Party
will support Samvel Balasanyan.Vardan Ghukasyan had announced that he
will run in the mayoral election if the RPA does not support him.
