ZHOGHOVURD: PASSPORT AND VISA DEPARTMENT REFUSES APPLICATIONS FOR PROVISION OF NEW PASSPORTS

On these days the Passport and Visa Department of the Armenian
police refuses or at least postpones provision of new passports to
the Armenian citizens and children explaining it with lack of new
passports.

The paper claims the order not to provide passports to small children
in particular, comes from the government to hinder parents take their
children abroad.

The paper says such passports are necessary on summer time to leave
abroad on holiday while the government is doing everything to make
people have their rest in Armenia and not abroad where it is more
convenient and affordable. In other words, they are indirectly
sending people to the resort houses of oligarchs to spend a lot of
money there. The police though have refuted the information.
