19:54 . 25/06

At the invitation of the President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan, today
the President of the Republic of Austria Heinz Fischer has arrived in
Armenia on an official visit, accompanied by his spouse Marget Fischer.

Within the frames of the visit, the President of Austria will have
meetings with President Serzh Sargsyan, His Holiness Catholicos of
All Armenians Garegin II, National Assembly Speaker Hovik Abrahamian
and Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan.

The Presidents of Armenia and Austria will participate in the
Armenian-Austrian Business Forum.

Before his visit to Armenia, the Austrian president gave an exclusive
interview to Hayastani Hanrapetutyun [The Republic of Armenia] Daily.

Touching upon the recent ceasefire violation cases on the
Armenian-Azerbaijani border and on the line of contact between
Azerbaijan and Karabakh, Fischer said Austria is greatly concerned
over the continuation of the incidents on the line of contact. The
withdrawal of snipers and establishment of an investigation mechanism
for incidents on the line of contact are necessary to draw nearer to
the settlement of the conflict. Heinz Fischer had also expressed his
regret that the ratification of the two protocols on the normalization
of the relations between Armenia and Turkey is stopped.

Emil Lazarian: “I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
