US URGES ARMENIA AND AZERBAIJAN TO AVOID VIOLENCE

Negotiations are the only means of resolving the Nagorno-Karabakh
conflict, US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said in Yerevan,
RIA Novosti reports.

She told Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian that military
activities are unacceptable in resolving the conlict. The dispute
should be resolved basing on the Madrid principles.

Clinton also commented on relations of Armenia and Turkey (supporter of
the Azerbaijani side in the conflict). She noted that Armenian-Turkish
relations cannot develop with neglect of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
