STEPANAKERT. – One of the two Armenian soldiers, who were wounded in
the early morning hours of Wednesday, is in satisfactory condition
while the other is in stable condition, Nagorno-Karabakh Republic
(NKR) Defense Army Press Secretary Senor Hasratyan told Armenian
News-NEWS.am.

He also informed that the soldiers are at NKR capital city Stepanakert
Hospital, that Volodya Tsatryan-who is in stable condition-is conscious
and able to speak, while Arayik Mavreyan is in satisfactory condition.

But no information is provided with respect to Junior Sergeant Vardan
Ohanyan, who was killed.

As Armenian News-NEWS.am informed earlier, an Azerbaijani
intelligence-diversion unit yet again attempted to infiltrate to an
NKR Defense Army military position stationed along the line of contact
between the Karabakh-Azerbaijani opposing forces. This attempt was
carried out on Wednesday at around 4:15am.

But NKR Defense Army vanguard subdivisions resorted to a defensive
battle and, as a result, drove the Azerbaijani unit back to its
initial point.

As a result of the skirmish, the adversary suffered considerable
losses, but the Armenian side had losses, too, NKR Defense Army Media
and Propaganda Department informs.

During the operation toward rendering the Azerbaijani diversion unit
ineffective, Junior Sergeant Vardan Ohanyan was killed while privates
Arayik Mavreyan and Volodya Tsatryan were wounded.

Emil Lazarian: “I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
