YEREVAN CLAIMS TO CONDUCT EUROPEAN INDIVIDUAL CHESS TOURNAMENT IN 2014

YEREVAN, MAY 30, ARMENPRESS: Yerevan claims to host European individual
chess open tournament in 2014. Armenpress was informed about this
from Armenian chess federation. Armenian chess federation will present
relevant application to European chess Union.

The holding this tournament in Yerevan in 2014 will coincide with
the events dedicated to 85th anniversary of legendary Armenian chess
player Tigran Petrosyan who was world champion during 1963-1969.

Such tournament has never been held in Armenia and the rich experience
of holding international chess tournaments guarantees that it will
be organized properly.
