ARMENIA MUST BE READY FOR LONG WAR TOO – ARFD

YEREVAN.- Armenia must be ready not only for blitzkrieg but also a
long war, member of ARF Dashnaktsutyun Artur Aghabekyan said at the
Friday meeting with Armenian intellectuals in Yerevan.

“If a war is declared against Armenia, we are ready to defend. ARFD
is the only force capable of securing combat ability of the country.

Therefore, military service should become a prestigious and honorable
thing,” he said.

However, in his opinion, such a small country like Armenia is not
able to have no enforced conscription.

Emil Lazarian: “I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again.
