YEREVAN, APRIL 26, ARMENPRESS: On the Independence Day of Israel –
April 26, Israeli President Shimon Peres will hand an official
appreciation diploma to 23-year-old air force sergeant Denis
Khacahturyan.

As Armenpress reports citing “IzRus” portal, Denis Khachaturyan is
engaged in preparation of the personnel serving the Israel’s military
aircrafts and will be awarded for his outstanding contribution to the
education issue of the young specialists. The sergeant has immigrated
to Israel in 2011 from Armenia.

Denis Khachaturyan stressed that the decision of tying the life with
the army is connected with the history of his family. His grandma has
survived the Holocaust, first appearing in the Nazi labor camp and then
running away. The grandfather managed the personnel of the soviet tank,
which was the first to invade the Death Camp in Treblinka, Poland.

Emil Lazarian: “I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
