JOINT MONITORING HEADQUARTERS APPLIES TO CONSTITUTIONAL COURT

The joint inter-party headquarters to monitor the elections is going
to apply to the Constitutional Court since they think the voters’
register is exaggerated.

President of the union of political scientists Hmayak Hovhannisyan
thinks there are 400,000 ghost names on the register. In order to
solve this issue the MPs apply to the Constitutional Court to check
the constitutionality of the relevant part of the Election Code which
prohibit the publication of the voters’ register.

The required number of MPs to appeal to the Constitutional Court is
27. The required number of MPs is there.

ARFD will join the initiative. PAP member Vahe Enfiachyan informed
that 20 MPs of their parliamentary group agreed to join the
initiative. Heritage has not responded yet.

Emil Lazarian: “I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
