ARMENIA AN IMPORTANT PARTNER FOR IAEA – YUKIYA AMANO

YEREVAN. – Armenia is interested in further cooperation with the
International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Armenia’s PM Tigran
Sargsyan said during the meeting with the Director General of IAEA
Yukiya Amano on Wednesday.

As the press service of the Armenian Government informed Armenian
News-NEWS.am, Amano mentioned that Armenia is an important partner
for IAEA as it has got an NPP and is planning to construct another one.

“You intend to extend the operation period of the currently functioning
NPP and then stop it and take it out of service. Our organization
must assist Armenia in all these procedures for them to go smoothly,”
Yukiya Amano mentioned.

Tigran Sargsyan informed the Director General that the schedule of
procedures for extending the operation of Armenia’s NPP has already
been confirmed.
