Platforms for wheelchairs to be placed in pedestrian crossings of
Yerevan streets

YEREVAN, APRIL 14, ARMENPRESS: On 14 April Yerevan Mayor Taron
Margaryan visited “Prkutyun” (Salvation) NGO of children with
disabilities and got acquainted with the center’s activity and issues.
Director of the center Arpine Vardanyan presented to the mayor the
priorities of improving the building conditions, stressing the need
for construction of special platforms for wheelchairs, press service
of Yerevan municipality told Armenpress.

“Our fellow citizens who have movement problems are always in focus of
the municipality, too. Hereafter no urban development project will be
approved with my assignment until it includes platforms. During the
repair works of streets platforms for people with disabilities have
been assigned to place in pedestrian crossings of Yerevan streets as
well,” said the mayor.

Taron Margaryan also assured that the municipality will support the
center both in resolving the presented issues and in specifying the
legal status of the occupied territory.

The mayor planted a tree in the court of the center.
