ITALIANS MADE 18% OF ALL TOURISTS VISITING ARMENIA IN 2011

ROME. – Armenian Ambassador to Italy Ruben Karapetyan met with Italian
Minister for Regional Affairs, Tourism and Sport Piero Gnudi on Tuesday
to discuss the issues on deepening Armenian-Italian cooperation in
the field of tourism.

The Ambassador told the Minister that the tourist visits have
increased since 2009 after the direct air flights were set between
the two states, Armenian MFA informs Armenian News-NEWS.am.

Italian tourists made over 18% of all foreigners visiting Armenia
last year.

The sides also paid importance to bringing closer the decentralized
cooperation of Armenian and Italian cities, stressing in particular
the existing possibilities of developing cooperation in sports.
