German, Armenian FMs meet on ties

YEREVAN March 16

Visiting German Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle on Friday
reaffirmed Germany and Armenia would continue to deepen bilateral
cooperation in such fields as the economy, politics and legislation.

The two countries had signed more than 30 treaties, Armenian Foreign
Minister Edward Nalbandian noted in a joint press conference, adding
they were working on new agreements and joint projects to boost their
bilateral ties.

Westerwelle started a three-nation official visit in the South
Caucasus region Wednesday. He visited Azerbaijan and Georgia before
arriving here.

This year marks the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the two
countries’ diplomatic relations.

Emil Lazarian: “I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
