ARMENIAN NEWSPAPERS TODAY: ARE THE OWNERS OF MASHTOTS PARK’S KIOSK KNOWN?

During the conversation with “Chorrord inqnishkhanutyun” Syuniq
Governor Suren Khachatryan announced that he was sure he would remain
the Governor after the elections and noted that he did not imagine
himself in RPA list. The Governor also underlined that RPA ideology is
close to the Syuniq resident. He announced that the national ideology
is the first for the Syuniq people. “Haykakan zhamanak” spoke with
leader of “Heritage” Party Raffi Hovhannisyan and asked whether he
would be present his candidacy by majority. Hovhannisyan answered
that there was no decision about it yet. “We will do everything to
settle the issue connected with the electoral system. I have nothing
against the majority system, he announced and added at the same time
that proportional system would be better for everyone.

Answering to the question about the possible ally with “Free
democrats”, Hovhannisyan said: “Heritage party will hold its session
on March 2 and the main principles will be announced then.”

The newspaper also refers to the coming elections in Russia and
writes that according to its confident sources leaders of the Armenian
Community in Russia were invited to Moscow and were ordered to support
Vladimir Putin during the Presidential elections. The meeting was
organized by the chairman of Armenians’ Union in Russia Ara Abrahamyan
and the leader of Armenian diocese in Russia. They spoke about Putin
as their friend a friend of Armenians.

Armenian media also referred to the 9th session of YKM. “Haykakan
zhamanak” writes that after the session on Saturday General Manvel
Grigoryan made interesting announcements during the conversation with
the journalists. “I have said that if they try to make any violation
against our country, against Asrtakh we also have some affairs in
Baku. It means that we are ready to everything. We are ready to attack,
to conquer, we of course are ready to protect the Motherland and show
them their place”, General Grigoryan announces. “Zhokhovurd” also
referred to the theme and wrote that Syuniq Governor Surik Khachatryan
also was invited to the YKM session. The newspaper writes at the same
time that Khachatryan has been removed from the YKM for two times.

As “Yerkir” writes Yerevan Zoo wants to bring a group of elephants. It
is not known yet how many elephants will be brought. But it is already
known that a special territory is prepared for the program. 300 million
AMD is needed for the project and it is not known yet who it will give.

“Hraparak” refers to Mashtots Park issue and writes that no one
official visited the activists during all these days. The owners of
the kiosks did not visit them as well. According to the newspaper
the names of the owners is kept secretly but the newspaper managed
to find out their names.

The kiosks belong to Gagik Beglaryan’s brother, who is also the owner
of the range of shops in Abovyan Street. Another owner of the kiosks
is the former Minister of Transport and Communication Eduard Madatyan.

Harutyun Qushkyan is also considered to the owner of the kiosks.
