COMMISSION ON ETHICS MERE ‘SHAM’ – ARMENIAN POLITICIAN

The Commission on Ethics will not produce any results, which was also
the case with the Public Council, Anush Sedrakyan, Vice-Chairperson
of the Free Democrats party told journalists Jan. 16.

“We have relevant agencies dealing with problems of ethic. I understand
that we are trying to pose a nation following ethical principles,
but our society is well aware of its own ethical principles,” she said.

Sedraskyan believes the Commission on Ethics is nothing but a “sham”
like the Public Council.

Hovhannes Sahakyan, a member of the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA),
who worked at the bill, believes that commission will be a deterrent
factor for officials.

“We should not underestimate a body which has been working for a few
days,” Sahakyan said.
