PanARMENIAN.Net – Threats uttered by Turkish authorities regarding
possible adoption of the bill penalizing denial of the Armenian
Genocide prove this country did not step out of denial route and
fears to face its past, member of France-Armenia interparliamentary
friendship group said.

According to Dominique Souchet, Turkey’s denial of the Armenian
Genocide is reflected in widespread silence all over the country,
in school textbooks and denial policy of diplomats.

Souchet argued that the approval of the bill could serve a signal
for Turkish public figures who struggle the policy of denial.

“Armenian Diaspora incessantly fights against the policy of negation
and through approval of this bill we will join this fight,” concluded
the MP.

Emil Lazarian: “I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
