On 20 December President of the Artsakh Republic Bako Sahakyan sent
a congratulatory address in connection with the Day of the National
Security Service Serviceman:

“Dear servicemen and veterans of the National Security Service,

On behalf of Artsakh authorities and myself I congratulate you on
your professional holiday, a day that is traditionally celebrated in
our republic.

It is not casual as the work carry out by you is of utmost importance
and is directed to the protection of Artsakh’s national interests,
safeguarding social and state security. Continuous strengthening of
our free and independent statehood also depends on your daily principle
and consecutive work. Our goal is to create such a state that provides
maximum level of protection to its citizens from foreign and domestic
threats, a state where every person will feel himself secure. The role
of the national security service is undoubtedly great in accomplishing
this mission.

I am confident that workers of the system will continue to show
necessary professionalism and readiness to solve difficult national
issues in a proper manner.

The state in its turn will continue to keep in the spotlight the
process of assisting the activity of the structure, improving your
working and social conditions in every way possible.

Dear friends,

I once again congratulate you on the Day of the National Security
Service Servicemen and wish robust health, happiness and greatest
successes to you and your families”.

Emil Lazarian: “I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
