Armenian society is sick

Sex pathologist Vrezh Shahramanyan and playwright Karine Khodikyan
today touched upon the frequent child molestation and attacks on old
women that have recently been taking place in Armenia.

The government and the National Assembly have developed the idea of
castration for preventing sexual harassment of children, but the sex
pathologist believes there is a need to discuss that.

“There is no need for urgent decisions when developing a law. Chemical
castration is the injection of a large dose of hormones. True, sexual
desire reduces, but that is only temporary. In that period, a person
may have other complexities that can turn him into a person obsessed
with rape. It would be better to cure the “upper part” since sexual
desire is connected to the brain,” the sex pathologist mentioned.

Playwright Karine Khodikyan says the reason for the rise of child
molestation and heronotofilia (sexual desire toward old people) is the
society’s indifference.

“A person can be an animal and divine. No matter how much the law is
restricted, it can lead to the opposite reaction. I rely on the
society’s healthy instinct. If the child molester was punished after
the first time, he wouldn’t continue. Today’s Armenian society is
sick,” the playwright said.
