HRAPARAK: ARARAT GOVERNOR TO GET PROMOTION?

The newspaper asked Edik Barseghyan, Governor of the Ararat region,
Armenia, to comment on the rumors about his promotion.

“I do not want a high post. Everyone is seeking promotion now.”

With respect to the rumors about his dismissal, Barseghyan said:
“The government appoints or dismisses me. If they want to dismiss me,
let them do so.”

Amid the recent resignations, in contrast to other officials, Mr.

Barseghyan is expecting promotion. Rumor has it that Minister of
Emergency Situation Armen Yeritsyan is expected to “give way” to his
former fellow worker Edik Barseghyan.
