The Second EU-Armenia Civil Society Seminar “Media Today” will be
held on 8-9 November 2011 in Tsakhkadzor. With an aim to open up
the existing official EU-Armenia human rights dialogue, this seminar
will engage European and Armenian academic, media and NGO communities
in a constructive discussion of the key challenges and prospects of
media today.

Panels on election coverage, the role of new media in a changing
society, media law and media ethics in Armenia and the EU will be
the highlight topics of the two-day event.

The seminar will bring together over 100 participants from Armenia
and EU countries, including journalists, media managers, NGO
representatives engaged in media development, academics, educators and
members of regulatory bodies. Keynote speakers will include former
European spokesman Nico Wegter, Lars Holmgaard Christensen from the
Danish School of Media and Journalism, Nouneh Sargsyan from Internews
Armenia and others.

From: Emil Lazarian | Ararat NewsPress

Emil Lazarian: “I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
