GOVERNMENT OF ARMENIA TO ALLOCATE 22 MILLION DRAMS TO SOCIAL LEARNING NATIONAL FOUNDATION

YEREVAN, November 7. / ARKA /. The Armenian government will release
22 million drams to the National Social Learning Foundation, Robert
Abrahamian, a senior official in the ministry of education and science
in charge of preliminary and secondary education, said last weekend.

He said the Foundation was established a few days ago, and its purpose
is to organize a set of refresher courses for unemployed to help them
find jobs. He said beginning from next year the Foundation will shift
to self-financing.

Abrahamian was speaking on Saturday at a three-day seminar for
journalists on publicity and reporting as the most important principles
of the Bologna process.

According to him, the released funds will be used to buy the necessary
equipment and for staff salaries. Abrahamian said the Foundation’s
self-financing is to be secured by employers and the trainees.

Abrahamian said currently only 10% of those with secondary vocational
education can find jobs. He said the biggest demand for labor force
is in service sector, tourism, information technology and agriculture
sectors.
