The Armenia-Turkey normalization process will hardly see any progress
in the foreseeable future, according to Hakob Chakryan, a Turkish
studies experts.

“Although the international community is interested in the
normalization of the Armenia-Turkey ties without such interest yielding
any result, it does remain a kind of restraint for Turkey,” he told
reporters on Monday.

The expert noted that Turkey is now in strained relations with Israel,
while the Kurdish population in the country is mounting extra tensions,
pushing the authorities to jail intellectuals who speak about the
Genocide or attempt to voice their protest.

As for the Armenia-Turkey Protocols, Chakryan said the Turkish
authorities are unlikely to address them in the near future, with
the constitutional reforms standing high on the parliament’s agenda.

“Turkey is not absolutely interested in the Karabakh issue; it just
doesn’t want Armenia to get powerful as it will be very difficult to
impose preconditions on a powerful Armenia,” he added.

Emil Lazarian: “I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
