ZHOGHOVURD: GENERAL MANVEL GRIGORYAN REPUBLICAN PARTY’S CANDIDATE?

The paper says it has learned from sources that the National Assembly’s
speaker, Hovik Abrahamyan, recently declared that General Manvel
Grigoryan, the president of Yerkrapah Volunteer Union. is going to
run for parliament, proposing his candidacy in the ruling Republican
Party’s proportional list.

But Abrahamyan denied the report after we contacted the National
Assembly’s Public Relations department to verify the information.

Galust Sahakyan, the Vice Speaker of the Republican party faction
in parliament, said they will start discussions over the Party’s
proportional list in late February or early March.
