Baku, Fineko/abc.az. Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan
Elmar Mammadyarov has announced the program of the country’s 2-year
non-permanent membership in UNO Security Council.

Today in Baku E. Mammadyarov has reported that within membership in
the Council Azerbaijan will twice preside at its meetings- May and
September 2012.

” Non-permanent membership in Security Council can positively reflect
peaceful solution of Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Garabagh conflict.

We will have a chance to draw support of other non-permanent members
as well as the Council’s 5 permanent members”,-E. Mammadyarov said.

He thinks it notable that Azerbaijan got its non-permanent membership
in the year of 20-year anniversary of independence restoration.

The country will start exercising its functions in UNO Security
Council on 1 January 2012.

Emil Lazarian: “I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
