Next autumn, Yerevan is to host a ministerial conference of the UN
World Tourism Organization (UNWTO).

Seventy percent of the 154 UNWTO member-states are expected to take
part in the conference.

At his press conference, Armenia’s Deputy Minister of Economy Ara
Petrosyan reported that the host country will do its best for the
2-3-member delegations that are expected to arrive in Armenia to spend
the week-end after the conference in Armenia to get acquainted with
the country’s tourist industry and prospects for its development.

Petrosyan said that organizational issues were discussed with Mr.

Taleb Rifai, UNWTO Secretary General, at the 19th session of the
UNWTO General Assembly in Gyeongju, South Korea, Oct. 8-14.

Petrosyan said that the ministerial conference is expected to sign a
Yerevan Declaration. Thus, Armenia, and its capital Yerevan, will go
down in international history of tourism. He stressed that Armenia
is ready to host large-scale international events, which will raise
the country’s ratings in the international tourist market.

From: Emil Lazarian | Ararat NewsPress

Emil Lazarian: “I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
