Stockholm. M. Guliyeva – APA. “I feel sorry for the Azerbaijani people,
who were forced to leave their home as a result of the occupation
of Azerbaijani territories by Armenians. But I do not see Russia,
Europe or the US trying to exert pressure on Armenia to put an end to
the occupation,” professor of the University of Louisville, American
analyst Justin McCarthy said while making reports in Stockholm,
APA reports.

The representatives of Azerbaijani and Turkish communities attended
the events. The American professor spoke about the happenings of 1915
that resulted in the death of Muslim and Christian population in the
east of Turkey. He said during the World War I, Armenians, who were the
subjects of the Ottoman Empire, betrayed the Turks and became the spies
of the Russian Empire, which wanted to divide Turkey. Professor said
those spies had settled in the east of Turkey, around the Van Lake,
on the border with Iran, had the opportunity to leave for Russia and
serve the Russian army. Justin McCarthy said 2/3 of the Muslim people
living in those regions of Turkey were killed by the Armenian gunmen.

“The Ottoman Empire did not commit the genocide, it defended
its population. Settlement of Armenians in Syria and Iraq can be
justified by the happenings during the World War I. The majority of
them were not killed by Turks, but died of famine and disease. With the
support of the Russian Empire Armenians settled in Nagorno Karabakh,
which was populated only by Azerbaijanis. Therefore, the occupation
of historical Azerbaijani territory can not be justified,” he said.

Emil Lazarian: “I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
