Chairman of the NA standing committee on foreign relations Armen
Rustamyan on October 18 received Georgian Ambassador Extraordinary and
Plenipotentiary to Armenia Tengiz Sharmanashvili. Greeting the guest,
Armen Rustamyan mentioned that the committee was ready to support
the strengthening and deepening of interstate and inter-parliamentary
relations between both countries. Praising the centuries-old friendship
between both nations, Rustamyan voiced hope that there would be a
possibility to overcome issues through finding solutions together
with the new Ambassador.

Expressing gratitude for the reception, Georgian Ambassador to Armenia
Tengiz Sharmanashvili placed importance on further strengthening and
expansion of Armenian-Georgian relations.

During the meeting, the interlocutors discussed regional issues,
the process of granting a juridical status to Armenian churches,
the courts and the sphere of education, as well as issues related to
ethnic minorities in Georgia and of bilateral interest, reports the
NA press service.

Emil Lazarian: “I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
