NEWLY APPOINTED US AMBASSADOR PRESENTS CREDENTIALS TO ARMENIAN FM

The newly appointed Ambassador of the US to Armenia, John Heffern,
presented the copies of his credentials to Armenian Foreign Minister
Edward Nalbandian.

Congratulating the Ambassador on appointment, the Foreign Minister
wished him success, expressing hope that he would contribute to the
further development and deepening of Armenian-American relations.

Ambassador Heffern noted that ~Sthe US Administration attaches
great importance to the development of comprehensive cooperation
with Armenia~T and assured that he would do his best for the further
reinforcement of bilateral relations.

Minister Nalbandian and Ambassador Heffern discussed a number of
issues related to Armenian-American relations, the implementation of
development-targeted programs by the US Government.

The interlocutors exchanged views on regional issues. In that context
the Armenian Foreign Minister highly appreciated the positive
involvement of the US in the peaceful settlement of the Karabakh
issue as OSCE Minsk Group co-chairing country.
