“MASQUERADE” PARADE IN THE CAPITAL

“Arevordi’ (Sunchild) 3rd international nature protection festival
launched today with “Masquerade” parade. More than 500 children
from different educational establishments of Yerevan and provinces
participated in it. The participants of the parade, in colorful
clothess, first passed the Freedom Square, and then Nalbandyan Street
and stopped at Charles Aznavour Square, where an open-air concert
program kicked off.

“Festival with all its events will call healthy lifestyle, ecologically
clean food and water use. We should realize that we are a part
of nature,” Director of the festival Ruben Khachatryan told a news
conference, adding that the festival, faithful to its nature protection
inclination, will attempt to voice such issues first of all.

The parade, organized within the frameworks of the festival, was
headed by the musicians of “Confusao” band arrived from German city
of Bremen. With their happy rhythms they invited everybody to join
the nature protection. The cloths and masks of the participants of
“Arevordi”, made from paper junks, metal boxes and pouches, reminded
one more time that the nature protection is in our hands.
