Inflation in Armenia 0.8% in Sept, 0.6% for Q1-Q3

YEREVAN. Sept 30

Inflation was 0.8% in Armenia in September and 0.6% for
January-September, Armenia’s National Statistics Service reported.

Food goods, including alcoholic beverages and tobacco, went up 1.2% in
price in September, non-food items – 0.5%, and services – 0.1%.

Over the nine months, the prices averaged up 0.1% a month versus 0.5%
a year previously.

As reported, at the beginning of this month the Armenian Central Bank
lowered its inflation forecast for 2011 to 3%-5.5% from a previous
5.5%-7.5%.

The World Bank expects inflation in the country will be 5%-6% this
year, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) 9.3%. The republic’s 2011
budget has inflation planned at 4% plus or minus 1.5%.

Consumer prices rose 9.4% in Armenia last year.
