Armenia’s grandest Grand Master continues his ride atop the chess
world.

Armenian grandmaster Levon Aronian tied his Round 2 game against Magnus
Carlsen of Norway at an ongoing Grand Slam Final Masters tournament
in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

Adding a point to his three won in the Round 1 game against Francisco
Vallejo-Pons of Spain Aronian now shares the lead with Vassily Ivanchuk
of Ukraine. Carlsen, Viswanathan Anand (India) and Hikaru Nakamura
(U.S.) have 2 points each. Vallejo has no points yet.

In Round 3, Aronian faces Nakamura.

The first five rounds of the Grand Slam Final Masters in Sao Paulo
end on October 1. The tournament resumes in Bilbao, Spain, on October
6 to go on until October 11.
