LEVON TER-PETROSYAN’S HERITAGE

During discussion of “20 years of Independence in Armenia and the
territory” organized by “Civilitas” fund, the ambassador of Germany
to Armenia Hans Johan Schmidt has criticized the first president of RA
Levon Ter-Petrosyan saying that the terrible condition in Armenia was
his heritage and added that bases of Armenian oligarchy was created
during the years of his presidency.

“During the demonstrations organized by the first president I have
heard that he constantly criticizes all the elections. I told one
of his advisors: “How will you explain the elections that Levon
Ter-Petrosyan took part in? What can you say about the events that
took place during 1994-1997?”. His advisor asked me where I got such
information from and that it was forgery. “But I believe that we
should be honest and be able to face criticisms”, said the ambassador.
