Awards to representatives of Armenian missions in the US

A number of representatives of the Armenian Embassy in the US and the
Representation of the Republic of Armenia in the UN were awarded
medals and orders on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of
independence. Part of the medals was handed at a reception in New
York.

President of the Armenian General benevolent Union Perch Sedrakyan was
awarded Medal of Honor for his contribution to the protection of
national interests, his services to the Republic of Armenia and his
long productive activity.

Founder of the Armenian-American Health Center Rita Palian was awarded
a Mkhitar Heratsi Medal for her substantial contribution to the
preservation of the Armenian national identity and the reinforcement
of friendship between Armenia and foreign countries.

His Eminence Archbishop Khajag Barsamian, Head of the Eastern Diocese
of the Armenian Apostolic Church was awarded the Medal `For Services
Contributed to the Motherland’ of the II rank for his service to the
Armenian Apostolic Church and his contribution to the preservation of
the national religious values.

Armenian Ambassador to the US and Armenia’s Permanent Representative
in the UN Karen Nazaryan received Mkhitar Gosh Medals for their
services in the diplomatic field.
