Romania Has Economic Interests In Azerbaijan – Romanian Ambassador I

ROMANIA HAS ECONOMIC INTERESTS IN AZERBAIJAN – ROMANIAN AMBASSADOR IN ARMENIA

At her meeting with journalists Sept 23, Romanian Ambassador to Armenia
Crina Prunariu did not comment on Romanian President Traian Basescu’s
statement in Azerbaijan, this April.

He reportedly said that Nagorno-Karabakh is part of Azerbaijan, and the
problem must be resolved following the territorial integrity principle.

As a government official Ambassador Crina Prunariu refused to comment
on the statement. Romania has economic interests in Azerbaijan, and
mass media often emphasize what they want, ignoring the interests of,
say, Romania, the ambassador said.

Conflict differ, solutions differ as well. In any case, international
legal norms must be observed, the diplomat said.

Romania supports the OSCE Minsk Group’s decisions. The Minsk Group
still has potential. In any case, Romania is inclined to support the
solutions the conflicting parties will eventually agree on. Romania
is against solutions imposed from outside – they are not be long-term
solutions.

Emil Lazarian: “I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
