PanARMENIAN.Net – British Ambassador to Armenia Charles Lonsdale
issued a statement, congratulating Armenia on 20th anniversary of
independence.

“I congratulate the people of Armenia on the 20th Anniversary of their
independence. A huge amount has changed in that time and much has been
achieved despite many difficulties and challenges. Of course, it is
not such a long period in the history of a country and much remains
to be done. So I wish the Armenian people success in their resolve
to realise the vision set out in the Declaration of Independence of
a stable, secure and democratic state, founded on respect for the
rule of law and human rights. The United Kingdom will continue to
support and assist Armenia in that process and in strengthening its
developing ties with Europe. We look forward to the next 20 years of
our partnership and friendship,” the Ambassador said in his statement.

Emil Lazarian: “I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
