TIRE PRODUCING FACTORY CATCHES FIRE IN YEREVAN

Yerevan’s tire producing factory caught fire in the afternoon,
according to the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

The fire mainly spread into a nearby 5000-square-meter open-air area
that stored mostly worn-out tires.

The dry grass in a nearby bankrupt factory greatly contributed to
the spread of the fire.

Tert.am learned from the Ministry of Emergency Situations that the
alarm call was received by a citizen at 15:28.

Four brigades of firefighters arrived at the scene of the incident.

They succeeded to prevent the fire from spreading to the nearby stores
of fuel oil.

For some time the firefighters failed to enter the area of the
factory because the gates were closed and they had to break down the
rusty lock.

The fire did not cause any casualties.

Emil Lazarian: “I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
