12.9% Year-On-Year Increase In Meat Prices Recorded In Armenia In Au

12.9% YEAR-ON-YEAR INCREASE IN MEAT PRICES RECORDED IN ARMENIA IN AUGUST 2011

YEREVAN, September 2. /ARKA/. Meat prices rose 12.9% in August 2011,
compared with the same month a year earlier, Gurgen Martirosyan, chief
of Armenian National Statistical Service’s prices and international
comparative analyses, said on Thursday.

“Prices for beef, mutton and pork went 0.4%, 4% and 11.5% respectively
over one year and are now continuing their upward movement, he said.

According to official statistical figures, meat prices jumped 1.2%
in august, compared with July.

In all the cities under, meat prices rose 0.5-3.3% with the highest
indicator in Gyumri. Meet prices in Armenia’s capital went 0.9% up.

The National Statistical Service of Armenia says 4.8% year-on-year
inflation was recorded in the country in August 2011.
