Yerevan to host first agricultural fair

Yerevan is going to host its first ever agricultural fair tomorrow.

At a news conference on Friday, Minister of Agriculture Sergo
Karapetyan said the event is intended exclusively for villagers who
will be offered free pavilions with umbrellas to showcase their
products.

“We are going to establish a very strict control to ban profiteers’
entrance,” he said, adding that the event has been sponsored by
private companies and individuals.

The minister said different concerts and other festivities have been
arranged on this occasion to enable people to combine their trade with
leisure. In the meantime, he encouraged the population to actively
attend the fair.

“It’s going to be a very important day in terms of re-establishing the
relationship between townspeople and villagers. We need to appreciate
a villager’s labor in a proper manner,” he said.
