President Serzh Sargsyan and President of the Republic of Cyprus
Demetris Christofias were present at the port city Limasol by the
ceremony marking the end of the submersible vessel “Armenia” around
he world .

After the welcoming ceremony of the sailing expedition, Zori Balayan,
the leader of the scientific tour reported the President about the
end of the around the world tour of the “Armenia” ship, which started
in Valencia on. May 28th 2009.

According to Zori Balayan, in the framework of the scientific
expedition named after Mesrop Mashtots the “Armenia” vessel, starting
from the Mediterranean waters, off Gibraltar strait in the Atlantic,
Pacific and Indian oceans: The head of expedition, said that the
staff members made friends in all of the five continents.

Speaking to the “Armenia” crew, the President noted that the idea
of this trip which took two years of expedition was carried out
with dignity.

“You not only made an around the world journey, crossed the ocean and
three dozen sees, but also you saw the Armenian Diaspora spread in
all different corners of the roads, you passed them the breath of our
country over. You gave the formula of our identity a new meaning. You
brought our culture and our monuments around the world,” President
Serzh Sargsyan said.
